Beverly Stokes is Founder/Director
of CEL Center for Experiential
Learning established in 1985. The Center for Experiential
Learning is dedicated to developing body-mind movement programs
and communication training and is certified by (HRDC) as an
educational institution.
Beverly is the author of the book, AMAZING
BABIES®: Essential Movement for Your Baby in the First
Year based on her documented video research of babies
produced in AMAZING BABIES: Moving in the First Year. The
second video in this Movement Series is AMAZING
TODDLERS: Moving Communication Learning – Age 1.
Both videos have been translated into Hebrew and can be viewed
on HOP! Parents Channel, a Parenting Program in Israel.
Beverly’s book and videos are used worldwide in University
graduate and undergraduate programs and in a variety of settings:
early childhood education trainings, psychology and somatic
education programs, massage therapy, kinesiology, optometry,
infant intervention and parenting programs.
On Faculty, Beverly originated and directed the Body Movement
Program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in
Toronto. For twelve years, she co-led adult workshops with
Marion Woodman, Jungian Analyst and noted author on the interplay
between perception, consciousness and movement. A Registered
Somatic Movement Educator (ISMETA) Beverly's extensive professional
background includes the fields of movement, bodywork, breathing
coordination, and communication.
Certified as a teacher and practitioner of Body-Mind Centering®
and Registered Somatic Movement Educator (ISMETA) Beverly
leads experiential workshops on Developmental Movement in
Canada and the US.
A Certified Laban Movement Analyst (CMA) and Movement Pattern
Analyst (MPA) Beverly is core faculty for the Laban/Bartenieff
and Somatic Studies (LSSC) Canada, Ryerson University 2007-8.
